Choosing a makeup style for your big day is one of the hardest decisions. All brides want to look gorgeous and flawless. Your wedding day is not the time to experiment, so stick to a classic look. Smokey eyes, an effective eyeliner and red lipstick, earth and bronze tones, are some of the future brides’ favourite choices.
Keep in mind that makeup should match the wedding dress, bridal bouquet, and jewellery, in style and colour. There really are no strict rules, although if you are having a spring outdoor wedding, your dress will probably be of a lighter material, so the makeup should also be light. Winter weddings allow for a more heavy makeup. Remember, waterproof mascara is nonnegotiable.
Here are some ideas.
Start With Your Skin
Prepare your skin to be the best base for makeup. Book facials a few months in advanced. Go for two to three facials a month. Indulge yourself. Facial massages are also a great way to relax and eliminate the pre-wedding stress.
If you have not been diligent about your skin care, and you waited until the last minute, there is still time to repair the damage. Starting at least 7 to 10 days before the big day, treat your skin with nutrient rich organic face masks and hydrating creams. Organic face masks are a safer option than conventional ones, since they do not cause irritation. You do not want any unpleasant surprises before the wedding. Stay away from coffee, soda, and red wine, which induce skin stains.
Schedule a Makeup Trial

Unless you want to follow Kate Middleton’s example and do your own wedding-day makeup, hire a professional. To make sure the two of you are on the same page, schedule a makeup trial a few months in advanced. This will leave you plenty of time to find another makeup artist if this one fails the test.
Book an additional trial a week or so before the wedding. By this time, your wedding plans will be settled and you will have a clearer idea of how you want to look.

Save the teal eyes and bright orange lipstick for some other time. Instead, go for something more neutral. To show off your natural beauty and flawless skin, try an overall lighter look. This look is particularly good for the outdoor weddings that we have mentioned. If you want to put some definition on the eyes, apply just a little gel eyeliner along the outer corner of your eyes, put on a light-pink blush and a 100 Percent Pure gemmed lipstick. This look never fails on the photos.

Use earth tones to accentuate your eyes, while keeping the lips in the nude or mauve palette. Apply a gold or champagne toned cream shadow in the inner ‘V’ corner of your eyes, then add a brown shadow on the eyelids and along the lower lash line. Pop a pale pink on your lips, Finish with a light pink blush and pale pink lipstick. Go for an all-bronze look with bronze shades on your eyes, cheeks, and lips.

Jet black winged liner and red lipstick create a classic yet elegant, very ladylike look. Paint the perfect cat eyes, then enhance them with false lashes, define brows with an eyeshadow that matches the colour of your hair, and finish it off with a fiery red lipstick. To add a bit of drama, line your top and bottom lash lines, and apply some black shadow onto your eyelids for a sexy, smoky effect. Swipe on a nude gloss.
