So here is the page where I say a little about what is what.
[Please note this is a new page I’ve created for transparency. This is due to the recent clarifications and changes to the Guidelines and Tax Implications for bloggers. I’ve been a blogger for a number of years and some of these guidelines didn’t exist when I started, so it will take me some time to retrospectively hashtag relevant content, but the below will be in practice on all content posted from January 2017 forward.]
A Style of Living is my blog. The articles I write are based on my own opinion. I do from time to time post Guest Posts from other bloggers, writers and brands, these are their opinions; I may or may not agree with them. If you disagree with me or anything that is written/ featured on A Style of Living I fully welcome your opinion. Healthy debate is good! Who knows you might even change my opinion. But remember to be civil and nice. Again it’s my blog, so I do reserve the right to curate comments if they become nasty or disrespectful.
I blog for fun but do make money from it.
My full-time career is as a Wedding Planner. I run my own successful Wedding Planning Business called The Wedding Expert. I’m also a published author in both fiction and non-fiction. I love to write and share and so blogging is a great way for me to express and share the things I love that are outside my career. I’m also grateful that I can make a [small] income from that too. So how do I get paid?
Where I’ve been paid to promote, mention, feature a product, brand or service you will see #ad in the post. Regardless of being paid for the promotion, mention, feature of a product, brand or service I will give my honest opinion whether that be good or bad. These posts will also be in a ‘Paid Advertisement’ category. This you will see below the title of the post.
When I’ve been given a product or service by a brand, company or their agent you will see #feature at the end of the post. That means that I have not been paid to promote, mention, feature a product, brand or service but it has been sent or given to me for consideration. Essentially I’ve received it for free, in the hope that I will use it and tell you about it. I do not promote, mention, feature everything I am sent. I will give my honest opinion whether that be good or bad. Where the featured item takes up only a small aspect of the post and is not its entire focus I will briefly list what has been ‘featured’.
Occasionally brands and PR Companies send me information about upcoming launches or products that I might like to tell you about. In the case where I have not naturally come across a product or service but have been intentionally introduced or it has been sent to me for consideration to write or talk about it, I will use #feature at the end of the post. Where the feature takes up only a small aspect of the post and is not its entire focus I will briefly list what has been ‘featured’.
If a blog post features none of the above hashtags then it is something I have chosen or been inspired to write about.
* Affiliate Links
There are a number of Affiliate Programs I belong to, from time to time and where appropriate I will share these links in posts, on the sidebar, in my mailing list, YouTube Videos and social media content. If you chose to click on these links and purchase an item from the company I will make a small commission from that transaction and in some cases for up to 30 days afterwards. Where an affiliate link is listed in a post I will use the ‘*’ with an explanation at the end of the post.
From time to time I will accept guest submissions. There is no guarantee your guest submission will be published and I reserve the right to edit as I see fit. All images you submit with your guest submission must be your own or you must have the owners written permission to use them. There is no cost for Guest Submissions provided your post is not deliberately promoting/ advertising a product or service. If that is the case, then it’s considered an #ad and you can contact me for my rates. This type of paid content will have a #ad in its title.
Should you sign up to my Mailing List, or use your name and email address to leave a comment or share something with me I will not sell any of your personal or contact information with another company. I will not put your information on spam lists. Please also note that I am not responsible for the privacy practices of any of my advertisers or blog commenters. If you have a fault or issue with them, take it up with them!
