Book Spread

Those of you who have been following me a long time will know that I am a twice published author already. I wrote a wedding planning book, Distinctive Weddings; Tying the Knot without the Rope Burns during my career as a Wedding Planner, and the chick-lit book The Meaning of Purple Tulips for my 30th birthday goal.

MY TWO PUBLISHED BOOKS

Getting married is one of the biggest days of your life. It can all go by in a flash compared to the amount of time, effort, money and planning it takes to get to that trouble-free day. Many people are daunted by the prospect of organising their wedding and have no idea of where to start.

Written by the established wedding planner, Blaithin O’Reilly Murphy, Distinctive Weddings; How to tie the knot without the rope burns brings together in one attractive book all the information you need – from sourcing the ring, to booking the band, picking the menu to hiring the transport, and everything in-between.
Also included are handy insider tips, ‘what to ask’, forms for bookings, templates for invitations, mass booklets, and listings of some of the most popular prayers, readings, gospels and hymns. The ultimate guide to planning your wedding day.

Faye Winters is a woman with a coloured past and a future fraught with tough decisions.

We meet her as the love of her life, Nathan [Nate] Locke, throws aside their 5 year relationship just as they begin to plan their wedding. Distraught, she throws herself into a tirade of pointless relationships until she meets Brandon Donohue. Falling blindly in love again, she sets herself up for fall after fall with this selfish American journalist. We ‘ re left wondering if Faye will ever get what she wants as we discover that Faye is in fact adopted, that her best friend Chloe, is pregnant with the child Faye has always wanted.  Faye ‘ s love life falls to pieces again as under the guise of learning that Faye had an affair while with Nate,  Brandon leaves Faye and the country for an internship with CNN, throwing her back into the arms of another and a double proposal follows. Who or what will Faye choose and ultimately will she ever get that bloodline she craves?

THREE BOOKS DUE IN 2021 & 2022

The first has the working title, Starlight Suppers and as the name might suggest to you, it is about Dinner Parties and entertaining. Like my other two books, this is a real passion project of mine! Its a book I’ve been thinking about for over 5 years now and I’ve been compiling notes, ideas and recipes during that time. Now retired from my wedding planning career I have the time and energy to devote to making this something really special!

Throughout the writing process, I’m going to share with you here on my blog tasters and titbits of what you can expect to find and see in the book. This will be like a quick flick through in a book store or the glance you get online when considering a book… accept I’m going to take it a little further!

In a small quiet village lives a lonely introvert, who observes the people that live around her through her front window and on her habitual walks. She knows little of them, only when they’ll walk by her house; except of course for the lives she imagines they lead. Through twisted fates, she learns the mundane, the eye-opening, and the truly shocking truth about the people who live in her supposedly small quiet little village.

My second novel is still a tiny little seed in my head, but daily these characters try to break free and while I’ve suppressed them for years they are demanding to be heard. And so, I will commit the print and hopefully bring you as much excitement, shock, and anticipation as my first novel did!

Christmas is one of my most favourite times of the year. Decorations have always played a massive role in the joy and experience. My love of Christmas decorations was passed to me by my beloved daddy.

In this book, I will share with you ideas, styles, themes and festive fun to take your Christmas decor to the next level without having to be a design genius.
